With its roots in Forest School Leadership and play-centred learning in the Early Years, The Secret Garden Learning’s mission to make every childhood a nature-connected one. As a social enterprise, community connection, education and wellbeing is at the heart of every Secret Garden Learning project. Through creative outdoor play sessions for children with their grown-ups, online courses and helpful resources for both parents and practitioners, The Secret Garden Learning makes it easy to capture and create quality nature-connected learning for the children in your world, wherever you live.
About Amy
While gazing out of the window from her desk at a global publishing company in 2010, it struck Amy that she would rather be outside. Shortcut past a Forest School Leader qualification, a primary PGCE specialising in Early Years, teaching Nursery and Reception classes in two Ofsted-Outstanding primary schools and founding a nature-centred childcare setting that was judged ‘outstanding in all areas’ at its first Ofsted inspection, and today Amy shares her passion for nature-centred early learning with families and practitioners every day through events, courses and consulting. As well as volunteering with over 30 environmental projects (and counting), Amy has worked on projects for the UK Government’s Department for Education and Lancashire County Council. Her favourite thing to do is collecting seaglass on the beach near her home in Morecambe Bay with her husband Phil and their daughter.
